Summary This project examines the female statues from Cyrene (modern Shahhat, Libya) held in the British Museum. I will examine these sculptures and make new assessments about their date, production, and stylistic treatment. These aspects, along with photos and measurements, will be entered into a database containing additional statues from Cyrenaica. This database will facilitate spatial and temporal analysis of the statues within the context of the city and will form a part of a larger assessment of female representation in the civic and religious spaces of Cyrenaica from the 1st century BCE to the 3rd century.
